  • PRODUCT INFO

Carbohydrates are stored in shrimps as glycogen, which can be mobilized to meet energy demands. They are a major source of energy for mammals but are inefficiently used by fish & shrimps. Mammals, for example, can extract approximately 4 calories of energy from one gramme of carbohydrate, whereas shrimps can only extract approximately 1.6 calories from the same amount of carbohydrate.

We use Dietary starches to help develop the biofilm in our aquarium. Cooking starch during the extrusion process increases its bioavailability to fish & shrimp.

Fish and shrimp can consume up to 20% of their body weight in carbohydrates
